Learn how to make a tutu, it’s easier than you think

You will need a couple of thing before starting, so let’s list them. First of all, make sure you have the scissors in your sight at all times so that the small one doesn’t get cut. You will need a satin ribbon of whatever color you want and some tulle of different colors. Ask your little girl what colors she wants her new tutu to be, and use those, for example.

The first step is to measure your girl’s waist with the ribbon, and mark that area with two knots. The distance between the knots should be equal to your small ones waist. If you did that, we can move to the tulle. You will probably need a couple of feet for a two year old and three to four feet for older girls.

Cut the tulle into two and a half to three inch wide strips. You can do this much easier if you roll the pieces of tulle you have. Remember to cut the ends of the tulle roll to be flat, or your strips won’t be straight. You will need maybe forty or fifty of these tulle strips.

When you’re done, start folding the strips in half and over the ribbon we mentioned earlier and that is already marked with the size of your little girl’s waist. Tie the strips tight between the two knots, as many as you can without the tutu being uncomfortable for her. After you are finished with that, you are done. Tie the tutu around her waist and there you go, you learned how to make a tutu without sewing.

The process described above did not involve any kind of sewing or gluing. The entire tutu dress was made by tying knots and using a pair of scissors to cut the tulle to size. This step by step tutorial ensures that the tutu resulting from it is comfortable, reliable and stylish.
